Update: Stars I think might be my surprise out of this group. I don't like every song, but I really like the ones I do like.

So I been a little slow on my updates, and I don't have a music review yet, but I will post a list of albums I'm currently listening to that are first listens for me. (Or more thorough listens, some of these I have heard before, thank you Garrett)

New Music Monday

I don't really have a lot to say today.  Though I do have about 10 albums checked out from the library right now, I haven't really had time to give them a good listen, which means I'm not blown away by anything.  I will share something that's gotten a lot of play on my iPod lately, which is not new, after the jump.
(I think I'm going to change this recurring post to Music Monday, to relieve the pressure of trying to find what's new!  You can turn to the professionals for that, or at least people who spend more time listening to music then working on PhDs!)

In defense of having kids: the Pram in the Hallway is okay

I stumbled across this great article in the Guardian this morning.  It is all about the kids and family and how they really don't get in the way of creativity and life, but instead make it better.  I agree wholeheartedly, it's not a long read, check it out here at the Guardian's website.

We had the house to ourselves last night thanks to some friends who took our children for the night, so to celebrate Rachel dragged me out of bed at 6:00am to go to Fernald Preserve, our favorite former nuclear weapons production site.  Some pics after the jump.

New Music Monday, Pt. II

So New Music Monday was supposed to be a weekly thing, but after listening to my latest haul from the library today while writing, I put on Sleigh Bells’ debut album and had to stop and listen to the whole thing straight through. I can't remember the last time a record hit me like this does.  More after the jump.
