Fernald Sunrise

We had the house to ourselves last night thanks to some friends who took our children for the night, so to celebrate Rachel dragged me out of bed at 6:00am to go to Fernald Preserve, our favorite former nuclear weapons production site.  Some pics after the jump.

New Music Monday, Pt. II

So New Music Monday was supposed to be a weekly thing, but after listening to my latest haul from the library today while writing, I put on Sleigh Bells’ debut album and had to stop and listen to the whole thing straight through. I can't remember the last time a record hit me like this does.  More after the jump.

Sorry for the lack of photos this past weekend, I will remedy that soon.  In the meantime, I thought I might try a new regular feature.  I have enjoyed a lot of diverse music recently and thought I might try a weekly short post highlighting some of my favorites.  For today's track, click on through.

Digital Holga

One of the things I've been dreaming about recently is being able to use my Holga lens on my dslr.  One trip to a home store and maybe an hour of work should do the trick, it's just not the highest priority project at the moment.  I will certainly post some project photos when I do it, and it should be a fun way to get Holga-style photos faster.  Along those lines, here is a mock-up/proposal for a digital Holga.  I want this to happen!  It's a fantastic idea and I really hope they get it off the ground.  I just love the irony of a digital camera mixed with the lo-fi Holga.  Also, isn't it a great presentation?  A great example of good design.

Welcome to my blog. I thought instead of clogging up our family blog with lots of pictures that might not be of interest to everyone, meaning those without the kids, I thought I'd throw them up over here.
