After taking some pictures for some friends, Matty and I headed out to have some fun on our own. Sometimes it's nice to be the only two healthy people in the house!

I had some fun taking pictures of some friends tonight. Here is the last photo; I think we should have gone crazy earlier, as this was probably the best shot of the night!

I took these this afternoon for some friends. I think they turned out pretty well. We had to fight for space with all the wedding photographers out there!

These will look better if you click on them, then again on the next page. The web gives them way more contrast then when they are printed- they are very smooth in the prints I made over the weekend. More on that in a follow-up post.

A few more...

Here are two from today. Working with a manual focus lens and a baby is nearly impossible. Here is one that is not quite out of focus. All the rest are blurry. Lesson learned! The older two had a hard time as well, but I guess I shouldn't expect much from them!

Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 Planar T* ZE

I rented a Zeiss lens for the weekend... looks pretty good so far! Here are two from this evening. The second is my favorite. the lens is manual focus, so maybe not best for pictures of moving kids, but the lens is pretty amazing! The out of focus area in particular has a wonderful look which my lenses can't recreate. I'll post some more after shooting tomorrow.

Cake!

Dylan had a birthday last week and I took a lot of pictures. In fact, I took so many pictures of him eating cake (43!), that I turned them into a stop motion video. The video looks better big. Also, if I find the time, I'll try and improve it by cropping all the pictures the same. In the meantime it's still pretty fun.

Highlight of the week

For those of you who haven't seen it yet...
(This was a video of the Wayne Rooney's goal last week against Manchester City, but the video keeps getting taken down from youtube. Go search for "Rooney goal" and it will come up. It's a crazy bicycle kick, or "overhead kick" as they call it in the clip. Crazy!)

Radiolab

Since I spend much of my time at school doing repetitive motion tasks (also known as "research"), I listen to my iPod a lot. I recently discovered the Radiolab podcast, a public radio podcast from WNYC. The show focuses on stories about science, in it's broadest sense. Life sciences, physical sciences, etc. I'm not explaining it well, so click on the link to the right and go download the latest episode "Lost & Found", and listen to the last story about Alan and Emilie; some of the best radio I have ever heard.
