Clifton Gorge

We'd heard about Clifton Gorge a while back, but never made the trip until today. It was easily the most dramatic place we've found in Ohio. We will definitely be making regular trips. These pictures don't even begin to do it justice. I just took a few quick pictures between taking care of the kids and especially a poor sick Dylan.

The gorge narrows here to only a few feet wide; very dramatic. I will have to figure out how to get a good picture of it on a return trip.

I added a little retro flair to this last one.

Hands

I originally wanted to get all five of our hands, but that wasn't happening with our set up. I ended up with just the kids. It turned out okay though.

Easter

I managed to take a few pictures yesterday afternoon when we had a little sun. Dylan is becoming less and less cooperative for pictures, but we managed a few.

And to her embarrassment, one of Rachel which I love.

My boys

The boys and I stopped by Farbach-Werner this afternoon for a quick photo shoot. Matthew was perfect:

Dylan just wanted to play in the mud. He did climb the fence a few times, but otherwise didn't even stop to look at me:

He did look up when I said "smile!"

When you give Dylan a phone...

I lock my phone so the kids can't get on whenever they want, but the camera is still accessible. Here's what I found tonight. Yep, 18 of em, with a few as videos just to mix things up. Thanks Dylan.

Pinewood Derby

The pinewood derby was a few weeks back and both Matthew and Alessia got to enter cars, though neither is officially a Cub Scout, so they were in the "open" class. This of course meant that I was a little more involved than I might have been if Matthew were actually a scout, and so I had some fun. The designs were the kids', but I did the cutting and shaping. They both had to sand for an hour (by hand!) but then I finished them up with the electric sander. I painted them as well, since it was last minute and the only time I had was at night. Alessia's car is the purple streak in the second track picture. Matthew's is the green streak in the first. Notice they are both winning. In fact, Matthew never lost a heat- undisputed fastest car. You can see how happy he was about that- we tried five time to take this picture and this is as still as he got! All in all, lots of fun.
